Dr. María Manuela Demmel is an Argentina Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellow who will be working in our lab for 3 months to CT scan bird specimens and apply geometric morphometric techniques.

Recent paper published in Current Biology shows that convergent brain features evolved in flying birds and pterosaurs: https://www.cell.com/current-biology/fulltext/S0960-9822(25)01467-8 . The study was led by Mario Bronzati and co-authored by Aki Watanabe.
